The Coogee Triathlon Club held it's official launch event on Sunday, 15th February, 2009. The launch event started with an inaugural inter-club aquathon held on Coogee Beach, followed by the official launch event and BBQ which was held at The Coogee Beach Palace Hotel.

"The Coogee Tri-Club provides individuals in the South-Eastern area of Sydney a great opportunity to develop skills in the multi-sports of Swim, Bike and Running," stated Matt Dymond, Club President, during his welcome speech. "We will endeavour to provide our members with regular multi-level training sessions, skills training, race events and a great social environment to get together and have fun" he added.
Congratulations go to Enda Stankard, for achieving first place male and Lizzie Lee for achieving first place female in the Inter-Club Aquathon. Well done!
